Yes they must be bent to the car. If they did not come this way they would NOT be shippable, because the main line to the back would be SO long.

Product arrived in good condition and matched what I ordered. However, it appears that each of the lines are a few inches shorter than the ones in my ’79 124. I was able to bend the rears to fit correctly by matching the original lines with minor adjustments. However, I couldn’t get the front lines to reach the master cylinder. It could have been my mistake – I’m not a pro. I made it work by cutting the lines in an easy-to-access spot, putting on additional line nuts, and using unions. Adding the union made it much easier to finish bending and install. For people building racers or drivers, I recommend buying the copper alloy lines and installing a union.
