Looking forward to getting my Fiat back on the road. Prior to my purchase, it had been dormant for 15 years.

Unit received looked perfect. Only after we installed it, and tested the car, it quickly began to seize the brakes. removing and checking the adjustment we realized the valve was much longer than the old one. Swapped them out, included the new seal and reinstalled. All seems ok now. Why did this happen? The pic below show the valve stem. The group shot is FerAgosto in Montreal. The last shot is my baby and my lovely wife.

Not enough thread to adjust acorn nut correctly with locknut in place. Workaround is remove locknut and use Loctite. Otherwise very happy with the booster...works very well, fits well and seems good quality and great value.

      Hello,

We are happy you got the issue resolved. For future buyers of the booster it is important to know that you MUST adjust that rod on any and all new boosters purchased from anyone. Boosters never come pre-adjusted. Also if you replace your master cylinder you need to adjust this same rod. You can use the rod that comes with the booster but often you need to remove the set nut behind the acorn nut to adjust it enough. If you do this just dab it with locktite after to keep the acorn nut in place.

Again for all future buyers. Adjustment of the rod is ALWAYS required no matter who you buy a booster from AND if you replace your master cylinder you should again check this adjustment. All this is in a factory shop manual.

Q & A

Purchased booster and tried to adjust the nut and it's tighten all the way unable to to make the stem shorter. Am I doing something wrong? Need to shorten it 1.5mm frank taormina asked on September 20, 2024

Frank,

Sometimes you need to remove the set nut behind the acorn nut to get enough adjustment.
If you do just add some loctite to the acorn nuts once you have it adjusted and you are then all set.

Thanks

Audible Air leaks from the connecting rod to pedal as it enters the firewall into the Master Vac as brakes are applied. Braking barely works with extreme pressure on the pedal. Engine RPM increases slightly with brake pressure also, very strange, please explain before I order. Sure wish I could talk to you personally, missed! Don Reynolds asked on February 2, 2024

Hello,

You can talk to us personally. The phone number is on the site (or Google) or 800-466-3428 or 817-483-9933.
It sounds like you're most likely have a bad booster either the diaphragm is torn of the one way valve is busted.

Thanks
