The starter motor was a perfect fit for my 1978 124; and weighs about half of the original! Looks good too....

I have a higher compression 2.0L that is heavily modified and this starter cranks it over with no problem. I have custom intake for sequential fuel injection so I have to remove the starter from below the car. Best of all its smaller than stock, half the weight, and easier to install. If you need a new starter or just want to upgrade the few extra dollars is well worth it.

Drop in replacement for original starter. Was able to drop in from the top of the engine bay where the original had to go through the bottom.

Installation wasn't as bad as I expected. Two people involved took 20 minutes.
