New Electronic Distributor

This is a reproduction of the originals in 1980-85 Fiat/Pininfarina Spiders.

In addition, you can install this in ANY exhaust side-mount cam driven distributor models (i.e. 1970-78 Fiat 124 Spider). You need to upgrade to a electronic ignition graded coil (ex: 21-2661, 21-2321 or 21-2662) and add a control module (ex: 21-3601 or 22-1600). This is the best upgrade for cars with points type ignition.

Gasket ( part 40-2651 ) IS included

Fits:

Fiat 124 Spider – all with exhaust side-mount cam mount distributor

Fiat Spider 2000 – ALL
OR
Any Fiat DOHC motor with the exhaust side-mount cam driven distributor

*NOTE: Can be installed in other Fiat DOHC engines so long as you convert to the exhaust side cam drive and cam tower.*

*NOTE: No warranty if used with a Pertronix Coil.*

Just installed this electric distributor into my ’75 Fiat 124 Spider, and my engine purrs! Added a MSD Super Street ignition box, and it has plenty of spark – engine turns on just after a few seconds. Would definitely recommend this part to take your spider to the next level.

    Thanks, Vicks!

is this what I need to convert 1979 spyder 2000 to electronic ignition? Will I need additional parts? Ross Faison asked on May 11, 2023

Hello,

1979 Fiat Spider and up to 1985 model years all already have electronic ignition.
If you are looking to just renew yours then yes you can just get this. But again 1979 Fiat Spiders already are electronic ignition.
If you need anymore detail or help diagnosing something that maybe going wrong please feel free to call us Mon-Fri.

Can NEW ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTOR, FIAT DOHC 1970-85 – (SKU 21-6325) be block mounted instead of top cam mount? On fiat 124 coupe 1800 ? Michael Ricci asked on April 12, 2023

No. Block mounted distributors us a thin shaft with a small geared in that fits inside the oil drive gear. These distributors have a large gear at the base that meshes with the exhaust cam drive gear. You can fit these units under the hood of a Coupe with no issues. You will need to have the exhaust cam with the drive gear along with the cam tower that has the distributor hole. We do offer a conversion for point distributors SKU 22-1324 which may be a better fit for what you wish to do.

Best Regards

What Ignition Control Modules (Make and model as hope to source in Australia) can be paired with this distrubutor and the FAST PS60 coil for optimal performance, economy and lifespan please? Frank Smolenaers asked on January 18, 2023

Frank,
Any of them, but the SKU 22-1600 has the most performance for higher RPMS.
Thanks

Are the two gaskets included? Or do they need to be purchased as well? I don't see them in the photo. Thx! Dan asked on October 20, 2022

Thanks for asking! The gasket is included!

I've updated the listing as well, to show the inclusion of the gasket. It *should* only require one.

Since 1982, we have been leading the charge for both innovation and preservation of great Italian classic cars. As the oldest US factory-authorized parts dealer and leading supplier of parts for classic FIATs and Alfa Romeos, we have the unique ability to serve you in four critical ways:

  1. OE suppliers: We have unparalleled access to new replacement parts from the original-equipment suppliers across Italy. We have had a special relationship with many of our manufacturers since the cars were new, and our buying power helps keep these top-quality, original-tooling parts from being discontinued.
  2. Exacting quality: You have high standards for your car, and so do we. We have the knowledge and commitment to use the best materials and designs for our parts. Many of our parts are made here in the USA, or by OE Italian producers. All of our specialty parts are engineered by experts and enthusiasts who know and love these cars. When we sell you a part, you can rest-assured that we trust the same parts on our own cars.
  3. Innovation: When a part is discontinued or below our standards, we don't just throw in the towel! The crack team here at Vick Autosports goes to great lengths to keep these cars going, and to give you the best set of options for modern upgrades and improvements. It's our commitment to sound engineering, constant improvement, and persistent innovation that allow us to give you the best parts AND the best prices.
  4. Commitment to NEW: Almost every used part out there represents a great car that no one will ever get to drive again. Many of these cars are still salvageable, but go to scrap for the simple sake of profit. That's not how we roll. We are committed to new parts, which means skillfully developing many parts that have  been unavailable or overpriced for years. This also ensures that you get modern materials and manufacturing processes, and parts that haven't degraded from 40-50 years of working in a car or sitting in a warehouse.
SHIPPING

All of our parts ship from right here in grand Cleburne, TX USA. Some of our parts are made to order, but the vast majority will ship same-day if you order before 1:00pm central time on a business day. FedEx shipping (in the ConUS) from our central location means the whole of the continental US is 1-3 shipping days (not counting the day of the order) away. Texas and the surrounding states often receive our shipments the very next day! Click here for more details on domestic shipping!

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We ship internationally every day! We use the US Postal Service (USPS) for the best compromise between cost and speed. To get a shipping quote, just place an order (showing $0 shipping) and we'll email you back an exact shipping quote. Just remember, we serve USA specification cars -- most of our parts will fit Euro-spec cars, but you need to do your homework. Our product photos are your best friend, and we're happy to answer your questions! Click here for more details on international shipments!

GUARANTEE

Your parts are made by Vick Autosports in cooperation with the finest manufacturers in the world. Our quality standards exceed OE, and we are proud to guarantee the bits we sell to our friends and fellow enthusiasts. If you have a quality-related issue within a reasonable time-frame -- with a part that you properly installed -- we will take care of you. Just reach out, and we'll walk through diagnosis and repair with you. We are happy to send a replacement part at no cost on the rare occasion that one of our parts fails. Click here for more details on warranties and returns!

Be aware, we recommend against taking your special Italian classic to a general auto repair shop. Even many who claim to specialize in Italian autos are less qualified and careful with repairs than you are. Trust us, we hear it all the time.
